Goal: Transition from manual, expert-led workflows to an automated AI-powered reporting model for phenotypic analysis, driving global SaaS scalability.
OpsGuru Services: GenAI Report Automation, Cloud-Native Workflow Orchestration, Serverless Architecture Design.
Tech Stack: AI/ML (Amazon Bedrock); Orchestration (AWS Step Functions, AWS Workflow Studio); Compute (AWS Lambda); Data (Amazon DynamoDB); Templating (Python Jinja2).
85% Increase in Operational Speed: Reduced the end-to-end report generation cycle from 10+ minutes to 1.5-minutes, drastically accelerating the time-to-insight for end users.
100% Automated Self-Service: Eliminated all manual intervention, moving from a manual boutique service to an immediate, 24/7 mobile application experience.
Scientific Precision at Scale: Automated the analysis of 179 unique personality traits derived from phenotypic measurements, ensuring every Base Personality Report maintains clinical-grade accuracy.
Zero-Variance Commercial Precision: Achieved high-fidelity report consistency with standardized layouts, images, and tables that were previously unattainable via standard, non-deterministic LLM outputs.
Understanding the complexity of human personality has traditionally been a subjective process, often relying on lengthy manual evaluations. Phenometrix is redefining this field by bringing clinical-quality objectivity to behavioral science. Their FaceCODE technology uses phenotypic analysis, studying physical traits such as facial structure and geometry to decode core personality attributes and predict behavioral patterns.
By turning facial features into actionable data, Phenometrix provides a clear, data-backed lens that helps sectors like healthcare, HR, and talent optimization better understand the people they serve.
By converting facial geometry into granular data, Phenometrix replaces subjective assessment with a clinical-grade lens, allowing healthcare and HR leaders to analyze 179 unique personality traits with mathematical objectivity.
Phenometrix partnered with OpsGuru to automate the Base Personality Report, a comprehensive behavioral blueprint that translates complex phenotypic data into actionable psychological insights. To scale globally, the team had to eliminate a labor-intensive, expert-led reporting process, a pivot that required forcing a non-deterministic GenAI engine to deliver absolute clinical consistency.
Before the engagement, the final synthesis of phenotypic data was performed manually. Every report had to be optimized by a human to achieve the specific tone, look, and feel required for distribution. This prevented the scalable operations necessary for a true SaaS Go-To-Market strategy.
The primary technology challenge was the inherent non-determinism of Large Language Models (LLMs). While LLMs are highly capable of generating insights, they are notoriously difficult to constrain within strict, repeatable formatting boundaries. Phenometrix required a solution that preserved GenAI's creative capability while adhering to a standardized report format.
Technical and Operational Constraints:
Scaling Bottleneck: A ten-minute manual turnaround time was incompatible with a global SaaS strategy.
Output Variability: Standard AI prompts often produce inconsistent formatting. Phenometrix required high-fidelity, zero-variance output across every session.
Integration Complexity: The automation layer had to integrate with existing API calls and mobile application triggers without disrupting service.
Future-Proof Observability: The team required a visual framework to troubleshoot and monitor every step of the AI workflow, ensuring long-term stability.
OpsGuru replaced the manual reporting process with a structured, automated architectural pipeline on AWS. Rather than relying on the LLM to manage both content and design, OpsGuru built a framework that treats the AI as a specialized data provider within a managed architectural process.
Using AWS Step Functions and Workflow Studio, OpsGuru created a visual map of the entire automation process. This provides a clear configuration layer for monitoring the timing of individual steps and troubleshooting errors in real time. This visibility transformed an opaque AI process into a transparent, manageable business operation.
To address the formatting variability of LLMs, the team implemented a Python Jinja2 templating engine. This acts as a professional layout tool with assigned placeholders for generated content. By separating analytical insights from visual design, the system ensures the Base Personality Report retains the same layout and branding for every user.
To prevent pipeline failures caused by unpredictable AI outputs, the system utilizes Amazon Bedrock with constrained decoding techniques. This ensures the AI generates data in a predictable, machine-readable format that the downstream reporting engine can process without error.
Existing API calls and store results in Amazon DynamoDB trigger the entire workflow. This integration allows the mobile application to request and receive a professionally formatted report in just 1.5 minutes.
"The challenge wasn't just about speed; it was about protecting the quality and consistency of our reports as we scale. By building a reliable, automated bridge between our insights and our users, OpsGuru reduced our report delivery time by 85% and eliminated our deepest operational bottlenecks. We are no longer limited by the manual hours in a day. We now have the technical trust and the architectural foundation to pursue global markets. " - Roman Kikta, Founder & CEO
The partnership between Phenometrix and OpsGuru has successfully translated a clinical scientific breakthrough into a high-velocity commercial product.
Previously, scaling was restricted by the number of hours a human could spend cleaning up reports. Today, the platform operates as a fully autonomous engine. This shift has not only reduced the report delivery time from 10 minutes to 90 seconds, a 85% reduction, but also empowered the internal team to move away from administrative tasks and focus on the product's strategic architecture.
Beyond speed, the new infrastructure has introduced a new level of consistency. By isolating the AI’s analytical capabilities from the visual layout, every report now meets a strictly standardized commercial aesthetic.
The success of this automation has established a robust foundation for the next stage of Phenometrix’s growth. With a scalable architecture in place, Phenometrix and OpsGuru will be partnering toward unlocking deeper data insights and broader market expansion:
Global Expansion and Data Residency: Expanding into the European Union is a top priority, contingent on meeting data residency mandates. Phenometrix is working with OpsGuru to clone the established Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) services and the early-stage components Phenometrix built in EU-based AWS regions.
Product Diversification: The modular engine is designed to support the upcoming launch of use-case specific reports, such as Dating and Relationship profiles. By applying new tones and templates to the existing core phenotypic data, Phenometrix can rapidly enter specialized consumer segments.
Group Analytics and Intelligence: To support large-scale enterprise clients, the roadmap includes building a Data Lake and an Amazon QuickSight platform. This will enable group-level analysis visualizations and embedded dashboards, allowing customers to track and analyze behavioural trends across entire populations directly on the Phenometrix website.
